FARIDAH HOLDS THE SPECIAL EDITION CITIZENS POST

In Munich this weekend global leaders, activists, citizens, celebrity champions and civil society came together to Unite Against Poverty around the G7 Summit at an event led by Global Citizen.

White Ribbon Alliance Uganda's Fridah Luyiga Mwanje represented demands from the people shared at Citizen's Hearings across the world. Faridah was joined at the event by the President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Global Artist Usher and Kweku Mandela, grandson of the great leader, activist and citizen champion Nelson Mandela.

Only last month Faridah handed Citizen Recommendations for the Sustainable Development Goals and the new Global Strategy for Women's, Children's and Adolescent's Health to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon!

Faridah stepped on stage to join the call of Global Citizens to end extreme poverty and to send a message to all global leaders, "NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US".

More than 400 organisations, including tens of thousands of individuals, including children, youth, citizens and adolescents have participated in the citizens’ hearings. We all came together to create a platform for citizens to raise their voice, to tell their governments what they want and how involving them can drive progress
