24 SEPTEMBER 2015
Tanzanian voices are heard today around the world, by national and global leaders, as Citizens demand that politicians keep their promises on women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health.
Citizens of Tanzania have contributed to a ground breaking global report being launched this week in countries around the world, calling for accountability and citizen participation at every level in health services.
The report is a culmination of a unique movement of over 100 Citizens Hearings in 19 countries in 2015. People of all ages, from all walks of life, travelled from their villages, towns and cities to take part in these remarkable democratic and open meetings with politicians, health workers and media. Citizens asked questions and spoke, leaders listened and responded to the upsurge of demand for involvement and accountability for their countries’ health services to women, children and adolescents.
